Marca Sue DeLacerda is a mostly self taught artist. Her artwork ranges from spiritual to whimsical. The whimsical art often reflects the humor she sees when life is seen through the cartoonist's eyes. The spiritual pieces in her body of work feature a series of collages based on hymns and other mixed media artworks incorporating religious symbolism. Her spiritual art has been included in three exhibits sponsored by Grace United Methodist Church, Dallas, Texas. She entered and was juried into four of the Parks Cities Presbyterian Church, Dallas, Texas art shows. Her mixed media painting I Am Protected was published in their book 23 on 23 23 explorations on the 23rd psalm written and collected by Dr. Pete Deison
The artist has won several awards for her artwork including a best of show for one of her collages. After conducting three collage workshops and presenting block printing and collage demonstrations to local artist associations, she finds she loves teaching and sharing her tips with other artists.
